Greetings Nomads,
Margate Golf Club in April will always bring its own kind of magic or disappointment, this month was no different. We must extend our thanks and gratitude to club captain Carlos Pereira and his staff for the hospitality we always receive and the use of their facility.
As this was Shaka’s last game as our captain for the year, it is only fitting that we acknowledge the commitment and dedication he gave the club. 2022 was not an easy year but he managed admirably.
Congrats to Bob Hall on being elected Captain for the forthcoming year, we know your knowledge and vision will be put to significant use in you year of tenure. To the newly elected Vice Captain Bones Coertzen and JVC John Ridl good luck chaps 2024/2025 is going to be epic.
To the members who made the effort to attend our monthly games and stay for prize giving and attend the AGM thanks chaps you made it all worthwhile.
Once again it is that time to announce my nomination for Chopper of the year, we have had the norm from Devlin Fraser who once again this year managed to procure his fair share of the Crying Towel on offer, our resident Scottburgh PRO in Michael Hartley who just can’t say no to a Castle lite and continues to play mediocre golf ,but this year the award must go to Ryan Ringo who showed us how to be a divisional winner and a crying towel winner with the same flair and positivity. Congrats Peacock you are a legend.
Our new playing year kicks off at Wild Coast in May, remember this is a shotgun start again and the playing fee will be in the region of R330 , this INCLUDES your cart , so be there early and let us give our new captain all the support he deserves.
Till next time keep it on the fairway.
Shaggy.
