September 2023

Greetings Nomads,

September game at Selborne Estate with just the slightest breeze to test the most discerning golfer.

First a huge thanks to Ryan, his staff and the members of Selborne Golf Club for the use of their facility, as always everything was superb .We did have an issue with a broken pipe which prevented most Nomads having to abort a shower and attend prize giving in playing kit, much to the joy of the masses.

To our ladies who waited patiently for the stragglers to finish and complete the scoring we thank you for your diligence. On that note chaps it is just not on to take 6 hours to complete a round of golf. We are all aware that we play ready golf and there is no need to wait out while a player in your 4 ball procrastinates and buggers around. Should this occur again the culprits will face a possible DQ or points deduction. You have been warned.

We are fast approaching our Andrew Mentis Golf Day, which is being held on the 5th of November at Port Shepstone. Our chosen Beneficiary this year is Alexander Home for the Aged in Scottburgh. They need some medical equipment for the Frail Care facility and the interior of the facility needs a bit of zooshing up, we will endeavour to give it a lick  paint . I urge you to book a tee time with Linda Hall, your VC or the ladies at the table at the next game.

Nomads this is the only aggressive fundraiser that we do. Its time to support the Andrew Mentis committee and be accountable and proud to be involved in this  worthy cause, after all this is what Nomad’s is all about. For the Nomads who can sponsor a hole or a 4 ball or both, entry forms will be made available to you.

At month end Natal will celebrate their 60th birthday. We as a club have a contingent of 15 members who will be playing, the largest from all the clubs around the country. I am sure you will join me in wishing Natal Nomads congratulations on this milestone and good luck on the day.

Till next time keep it on the fairway.

Shaggy.
