November 2023

Greetings Nomads,

Another fine golfing day held at Umkomaas, a huge thank you to Devlin Fraser and the staff at Umkomaas for making our day a success.

Thanks to Martin du Plessis who stepped up to assist in setting up the alter and fulfilling the JVC role and again to the alter bunnies and friends who assisted in packing up the alter, always appreciated chaps.

To everyone who was involved in the Andrew Mentis Golf Day, the  sponsors, committee members, players and guests thank you, to the lesser bunch who gave it a miss, try a bit harder next year. We certainly believe it was a success. The final tally will be presented to the members once our raffle drive for the TaylorMade P790 irons and woods has run its course, December/ January is the target date for the draw. You have all been presented with a book of tickets, 10 tickets at R100 each, you are not required to buy them all, if you do nice, but you are kindly requested to sell them to your mates. The value of the complete set is R55 000.00, it is a phenomenal set of clubs put together by John Ridl and well worth the ticket price of R100. In fact, if you took a punt at R1000 its still a great return.

Our Gold Cup in in December at Margate, please put you name in the draw and come and play.

Lastly the entries for Nationals have closed and we have 22 players who will represent Southern Natal at Koro Creek, should anyone else feel the need to join us, get your name on the reserve list, it is going to be some tournament on a course that 90 % of the Nomads have never seen or played, in the scorching heat of Modimolo.

Till next time keep it on the fairway.

Shaggy.
