January 2023

Happy New Year to you all.

To all the winners at the Gold Cup, Congratulations! Our Champion Golfer of the Year is Howie Crouch and justifiably so. All the other contenders for the cup had a good run at him, but at Sheppies no one was going to beat him.

Our January game at Scottburgh on the 17th  was well attended considering the playing members we have, 53 members and 13 visitors who did battle on the day. To club captain and fellow Nomad Bob Hall once again well done my son. The  efforts of the ground staff in getting the course respectable and playable was applauded by all as shown by the scores, 31 points for A Div. !!! A very good test of golf. Alas, Ugu water decided that as we do not exert ourselves sufficiently on the day we did not need water to shower, which resulted in the bulk of our members getting their way and having our Prize giving in playing clothes. The heat and playing kit resulted in a rather festive and rowdy prize giving. Oh! and Bob, a very fine Prize Giving. Well done bud.

Thanks to our dream team of ladies who started and ended our day, thank you once again for all you do.

In 2022 we averaged 73 members per game. Let us see if we can increase that number starting at SanLameer.

Stats for the game where as follows:

66 players of which 53 where members, 1made more than 32points, 25 no change and 27 played rubbish. Average for the day was 27 points

Our next game is at San Lameer where target golf is the order of the day so bring ample golf balls and if you lost your standing bet at Scottburgh, San Lameer is not a bad course to press the bet and get your money back, beware John Webster.

Till next time keep it on the fairway.
