Greetings Nomads,
Our August game at Southbroom with the weather gods smiling down on us and a playable golf course, cold beers available, a fine day to shoot 72.
Congrats to Martin Hutton who made 40 points and for the second time, shot his age of 73. Well done mate.
A huge thanks to Gavin Sole and his staff for looking after us on the day. The course was challenging and the beers cold, and hot showers never go amiss anyway. To all the Nomads who fulfilled their playing commitment and chose to stay for prize giving thanks. Going forward from the September game the fine or contribution to Andrew Mentis will be R50. Not a huge increase considering there are clubs around the country that are charging R100 for the privilege of your absence at PG.
Thanks to the VC John Ridle for setting up the alter with me and to all the Nomads who assisted us. We managed to get prize giving started before 17h00 and completed within 45 minutes. Nomads for all those who were not present and did win a prize we have a list of what you won; this will only be carried forward for 1 month after which the prizes will be donated to Andrew Mentis to be used at the Golf Day in November.
Our next game is at the beautiful Selborne Golf Estate, if you have not entered, please do so.
Remember to EFT your game fees rather than paying cash at the table.
Till next time keep it on the fairway.
Shaggy.
