Greetings Nomads,
Last game of the playing year and our AGM at Port Shepstone was well attended, could have been better but a decent showing none the less.
As this was Bobs last game as our captain for the year, it is only fitting that we acknowledge the commitment and dedication he gave the club. The year2023 was not without its fair share of Wobblies but he managed admirably.
Congrats to Bones Coertzen on being elected Captain for the forthcoming year, we know your drive to make Southern Natal Nomads a great club is important to you. The knowledge and vision you share with IPVC Bob Hall will be put to significant use in you year of tenure. To the newly elected Vice Captain Johnny Vryonides and JVC Nico Smith good luck chaps 2024 is our 40th anniversary year so make the most of this special occasion.
To the members who made the effort to attend our monthly games and stay for prize giving and attend the AGM thanks chaps you made it all worthwhile.
To all the members who assisted the VC with the alter and trailer, a huge thanks, its not easy on your own.
Once again it is that time to announce my nomination for Chopper of the year, we have had all sorts vying for this award, from Ryan Ringo receiving the crying towel in April and December to Grant Langley and his heroics at the whiskey table to the resident Pro from Scottburgh, but unanimously the Chopper of the year goes to Ulrich Gous, crying and complaining that the golf clubs do not have sufficient landing space for your chopper is just over the top at least Chris Ledden has toned it down a bit by driving to the games in his Bentley.
Our new playing year kicks off at Margate in May, remember this is the start of our new national sponsors and Johnny Walker Blond will be available at the whiskey and milk table , so be there early and let us give our new captain all the support he deserves.
Till next time keep it on the fairway.
Shaggy.
